How to Convert Images Online Free
Drop or Select Your Image
Drag and drop an image onto the upload area, or click to browse your computer. The converter accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, and most common image formats. As soon as you pick a file, the conversion panel appears.
Choose Your Settings
Select the output format — keep the original, or convert to JPEG, PNG, or WebP. Adjust the quality slider if you are converting to JPEG or WebP. Optionally set a new width or height to resize the image. If you set both dimensions, the converter uses exactly those numbers. If you set only one, it scales proportionally.
Convert and Download
Click "Convert Image" and the tool processes your file instantly. You will see a preview, the new file size, dimensions, and output format. Hit "Download" to save the converted image to your computer. The entire process runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded to any server.
Image Conversion Tips
When to Convert to WebP
WebP offers excellent compression at quality settings around 85-92%. It is a great choice for web images because files are typically 25-35% smaller than JPEG at the same visual quality. Most modern browsers support WebP, making it ideal for websites and online content.
When to Stick with JPEG
JPEG is the safest bet for maximum compatibility. If you are sharing images with users on older browsers or devices, JPEG ensures everyone can view them. Use quality settings around 85-92% for photos, and avoid going below 75% if the image will be printed or viewed at large sizes.
When to Use PNG
PNG is lossless, making it perfect for images with sharp edges, text, or transparent backgrounds. Screenshots, logos, and UI elements work best as PNG. Be aware that PNG files are much larger than JPEG or WebP, so avoid using PNG for photos unless you need the lossless quality.
Resizing Without Distortion
The converter respects aspect ratio when you set only one dimension. Set width to 1920 and leave height empty, and the tool calculates the correct height automatically. This prevents stretching or squashing. If you need exact dimensions regardless of aspect ratio, set both width and height.
